RESIDENTIAL ELECTRICAL REPORTS. DEMAND 2.5
I N T R O D U C T I O N
Electrical Design Software is a New Hampshire based company
that was established in 1992. Our organization's primary objective
is to produce quality software, for the Electrical Industry, at a
reasonable price.
DEMAND 2.5 requires no special computer knowledge, and is
designed to accommodate both the amateur and professional user.
Context Sensitive Help Screens have been programmed into this
application in order for you the, user, to continue working
quickly and efficiently.
DEFINITION OF SHAREWARE
Shareware distribution gives users a chance to try software
before buying it. If you try a Shareware program and continue
using it, you are expected to register. Individual programs differ
on details -- some request registration while others require it,
some specify a maximum trial period. With registration, you get
anything from the simple right to continue using the software to
an updated program with printed manual.
Copyright laws apply to both Shareware and Commercial
software, and the copyright holder retains all rights, with a
few specific exceptions as stated below. Shareware authors are
accomplished programmers, just like commercial authors, and the
programs are of comparable quality. (In both cases, there are
good programs and bad ones!) The main difference is in the method
of distribution. The author specifically grants the right to copy
and distribute the software, either to all and sundry or to a
specific group. For example, some authors require written
permission before a commercial disk vendor may copy their
Shareware.
Shareware is a distribution method, not a type of software.
You should find software that suits your needs and pocketbook,
whether it's commercial or Shareware. The Shareware system makes
fitting your needs easier, because you can try before you buy.
And because the overhead is low, prices are low also. Shareware
has the ultimate money-back guarantee -- if you don't use the
product, you don't pay for it.

DISCLAIMER - AGREEMENT
Users of Demand 2.5 must accept this disclaimer of warranty:
Demand 2.5 is supplied as is. The author disclaims all warranties,
expressed or implied, including, without limitation, the warranties
of merchantability and of fitness for any purpose. The author
assumes no liability for damages, direct or consequential, which
may result from the use of Demand 2.5.
Demand 2.5 is a "Shareware Program" and is provided at no
charge to the user for evaluation. Feel free to share it with
your friends, but please do not give it away altered or as part
of another system. The essence of "user-supported" software is
to provide personal computer users with quality software without
high prices, and yet to provide incentive for programmers to
continue to develop new products. If you find this program
useful and find that you are using Demand 2.5 and continue to use
Demand 2.5 after a reasonable trial period, you must make a
registration payment of *$44.00 to Electrical Design Software.
The *$44.00 registration fee will license one copy for use on
any one computer at any one time. You must treat this software
just like a book. An example is that this software may be used
by any number of people and may be freely moved from one computer
location to another, so long as there is no possibility of it
being used at one location while it's being used at another. Just
as a book cannot be read by two different persons at the same time.
Commercial users of Demand 2.5 must register and pay for their
copies of Demand 2.5 within 30 days of first use or their license
is withdrawn. Site-License arrangements may be made by contacting
Electrical Design Software.
Anyone distributing Demand 2.5 for any kind of remuneration
must first contact Electrical Design Software at the address listed
for authorization. This authorization will be automatically granted
to distributors recognized by the (ASP) as adhering to its
guidelines for shareware distributors, and such distributors may
begin offering Demand 2.5 immediately (However Electrical Design
Software must still be advised so that the distributor can be kept
up-to-date with the latest version of Demand 2.5).
You are encouraged to pass a copy of Demand 2.5 along to your
friends for evaluation. Please encourage them to register their
copy if they find that they can use it. All registered users will
receive a copy of the latest version of the Demand 2.5.

WHAT IS DEMAND 2.5
Electrical Design Software designed Residential Electrical
Reports DEMAND 2.5 to be a user friendly program. This application
produces professional customized reports for the demand calculation
on new or existing single dwellings.
WHAT'S NEW IN 2.2
Demand 2.2 now has an additional search list box to make
finding records easier. In addition Demand 2.2 utilizes memory more
efficiently by using an overlay manager that will swap portions of
the program in and out of conventional memory as needed, freeing as
much memory as possible. If your system has available extended or
expanded memory demand 2.2 will store unloaded modules first in
extended memory (XMS), and then in expanded memory (EMS).
WHAT'S NEW IN 2.5
You can now print the General or Optional reports seperatly,
Some additional wording in the help system, When you have two or
three cooking loads Demand 2.5 will compare the result against
column A to use the smaller demand figure.

COOKING
Enter up to three electric ranges or cooking appliances. The
minimum wattage is 1751 to a maximum of 12,000. The program will
automatically classify each category according to column A,B or C
and apply the demand factors accordingly. In addition when
calculating two or three units the result will be compared against
column A to give the lowest allowable demand. REF: 220-19
-----------------------------------------------------------------
FIXED APPLIANCE
Enter the fastened in place fixed appliances that are wattage
loads, such as water heater, dishwasher, etc.
REF: 220-17, 430-24, 430-25, 430-26

FASTENED IN PLACE MOTOR APPLIANCES
Enter the name, volts and amps for the fixed appliances that are
motor loads, such as well pump, compactor, vent fan, disposal, pool
motor, etc. This group will be compared with each other as well as
